Tribes in the Natlan

In the age of Tenech, over a thousand years before the creation of the Mare Jariwa, Natlan had at least six major tribes, three of which remain unknown today. The three tribes that will be revealed to Travelers are Nana'tska'yan, Huitzlan, and Metztli.

New gameplay - Dendro Saurian

New gameplay - Dendro Saurian

In the new version 5.0 of Genshin Impact, the Grass Lizard playstyle is a unique feature related to the new region of Natlan. Travelers can interact with symbols representing lizards found in Natlan to transform into a lizard (these symbols appear near locations where specific dragons appear and are challenged).

New gameplay - Dendro Saurian

Transforming into a lizard grants players an advantage in exploration and combat. For example, Tepetlusali can burrow underground, Koholal can swim in magma and water, and Yumkasa can leap in the air. These grass lizards not only change how players move but also introduce a new exploration mechanism, enhancing the game's interactivity and fun.

The types of lizards that Travelers can embody include:
Geo Dragon:Possessing a drill-like head, it can move swiftly through the earth and cliffs.

Geo Dragon

Hydro Dragon: Can swiftly traverse bodies of water and magma.

Hydro Dragon

Dendro Dragon: Can interact with distant objects, achieving effects such as object swallowing, control, and grappling climbing.

These lizards play a crucial role in the game's open-world interactions, offering various ways of movement and exploration.

The Archon of the Natlan

Mavuika

Mavuika

The Archon of Pyro is known as the God of War. Beyond the fact that she is female, little is known about the Archon of Pyro. Apart from being called Murata, there is no other information about her name.
She is not among the seven original Archons known to Venti and Rex Lapis, implying that her predecessor likely vanished or died, allowing her to ascend to the position of a deity in Natlan.

History of the Natlan

  • A thousand years ago, a historical figure named Tenech, known for his large obsidian club, recruited allies from the six major tribes of Natlan to protect it from the murky black tide.
  • A thousand years ago, the Pyro Archon Murata hosted martial arts competitions among the tribes of Natlan.
  • Years unknown before, for reasons currently unknown, Murata's son's tribe left Natlan, wandering on the plains for generations until they met Drake in 1010.
  • Now, Travelers will step onto the new map of Natlan on August 28, embarking on a legendary journey that will be written into the annals of Natlan.
